I mentioned in one of the earlier blogs (I think it was the one on windows) That as the 'living floor' is actually around 3m above ground level. This has given us a number of problems to deal with but also has it's good points. For one, the view from all the rooms on this floor are fantastic.

So given this we decided to make the new window in the kitchen a bi-fold door instead, opening out onto a deck. I have designed the deck and made some CAD pictures:
      
As you can imagine we have over 12" of snow right now so we are on a weather hold to get this work completed but we are hoping the spring.

Sometimes I am so busy at the house seeing all the work that is going on that I forget how lucky we are to have such wonderful views out our windows. I know once the deck is up we will have many amazing adventures right outside our own door.
